Gone Country: Back in the Saddle Again … Saturday, April 22, 2023 - 7:00 p.m.
This show features local talent performing the greatest hits of country music through the decades accompanied by a fantastic live house band. This evening is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Auditorium. Enjoy a night of excellent local music while supporting the arts in your community!
Meet the Band
Tim Deats (piano) – Tim has played with Jerrod Niemann, Lee Brice, Ned Ledoux, Montgomery Gentry, Clint Black and many others. Tim has also written and recorded several commercials and has won a couple of Addie Awards back in his native state of Illinois. He also is a proud Endorser of Hammond Organs and has an artist profile on their website. While with playing with Dustin Evans and Good Times, Tim has opened for such artists as Chris Ledoux, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, Keith Urban , Brad Paisley, Charlie Daniels and many others, while playing venues as varied as Cheyenne Frontier Days to The Indy 500.
Gary Snow (guitar) – Gary has played all over the world, and has written music for a variety of TV shows and advertising. He was a South Dakota Hall of Fame recipient in 2013. He has also produced and recorded numerous musical acts. He was nominated for the Rocky Mountain Country Music Association Producer of the Year. He has shared the stage with acts such as David Crosby, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Davy Jones of the Monkees, and many others. He is a long time member of Dustin Evans and Good Times, opening for major country. Gary is also an in-demand studio musician and sideman.
Sam Irish (bass) – Sam has played bass for Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Gene Pitney, Del Shannon, Tommy Roe, Little Anthony, Coasters, Drifters, Shirelles, Platters, and nearly a hundred other pioneers of rock n’ roll. Sam has played for Wayne Newton, as well as various jazz artists, including Sam’s personal favorite, Alphonse Mouzon. Sam has played countless shows with his close friend, drummer Johnny Bolin. Sam was humbled and honored to be inducted into the Iowa Rock & Hall of Fame, class of 2023.
Al Berven (drums) – Al has been the drummer in the popular band “Kory and the Fireflies” since 2002. He shared the stage with Alice Cooper, and has opened for major country acts with Dustin Evans and Good Times. Al is sought after in the studio, recording drums with Kory and the Fireflies for songs that have appeared on TV shows “Unforgettable” and “Shameless.” Al has been a mainstay of the Sioux Falls music scene since he got his start at age 15. His considerable ability as a performer is only outmatched by his kindness and his sterling reputation as a professional.
Howard Hedger (fiddle) – Howard is a multi-instrumentalist immigrant, hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne in Northern of England, UK, currently living in Brandon South Dakota working remotely for NASA. Howard started his musical career in the UK writing and recording sessions for Ubisoft, playing major rock festivals with britpop bands, and getting kicked out of Marilyn Manson’s trailer. He produces for folk act Lowri Evans and more recently with Steve Vai engineer Greg Wurth. This will be his fourth time playing at Gone Country in Worthington.
Gabriel Michael Fueston (guitar) – Gabriel grew up in Worthington, and recently returned to his hometown after living in coastal Ecuador for 10 years. Gabriel is a guitar player, singer, and songwriter, and has in a short time forged positives collaborative relationships with the very best area musicians. Gabriel does solo performances and is currently working with Sioux Falls-based funk band Funk-UH-Fried. He has worked with Sam, Al, and Tim in the past, and is the musical director for Gone Country 2023.
