Memorial Auditorium is located in the heart of Worthington’s historic central district.  Constructed in 1931, the renovated and restored 735 seat classic art deco performance center, owned and operated by the City of Worthington, is one of the largest auditorium facilities in a wide region of southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.

Continuing the legacy of Memorial Auditorium through volunteer support, the Great Entertainer Series and the Hometown Showcase Series are underwritten and sponsored by the Friends Of The Auditorium, Inc. to nurture excellence and innovation in the performing arts through education and public engagement.

The large proscenium stage features state-of-the-art lighting and sound.

Renovation Fundraiser

The Memorial Auditorium will undergo a renovation starting in June of 2010 through April 1, 2011.  It will consist of the removal of the old side lobby to make room for a new larger lobby that will include the Box Office, larger rest rooms, stairway to the upper balcony, concession booth, and air conditioning and insulation for the main building.

During this time, the Friends will be unable to have a regular season, so they have started a fundraiser to last the entire time of the renovation.
